Today I was working in VMware Workstation 15.5.1 (installation file name: VMware-player-15.5.1-15018445.exe) and it promted me to upgrade to the new version 15.5.2, which I did.
However, it said that I must quit the vm (linux) which I also did, fine.
The wizard was something like "next, next next, repair, ..... finish"- my installation was interrupted for unknown reason, VMware Workstation Setup Wizard ended prematurely.
Then I downloaded the newest version from the site - it failed, VMware Workstation Setup Wizard ended prematurely.
I ran the .exe which I had from last week (VMware-player-15.5.1-15018445.exe) - it failed, VMware Workstation Setup Wizard ended prematurely.
I tried installing both versions (x86 and x64) of Download Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable Update 3 from Official Microsoft Download Center as suggested here VMware Workstation Setup Wizard ended prematurely (The installer said that I had them installed already.)
Then, I tried to install both versions, first the 15.5.1 one and then the 15.5.2 one, both as Administrator - it failed, VMware Workstation Setup Wizard ended prematurely.
Could it be because I uninstalled Windows 10 Update KB4535996 because of Microsoft Issues Windows 10 Update Warning ?
I highly doubt that.
Please help, I'm very disgusted with the s**t I had to go trough today, the upgrade, install and repair functions are horrible.
