I have Vaio Fit laptop.

OS: Windows 8 64--bit

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3337U CPU @ 1.80GHz

Virtualization is enabled in BIOS. Task manager is reporting that virtualization is enabled.

I am trying to play an image of Ubuntu 32-bit that was copied from another machine. I get the error message "Binary translation is incompatible with long mode". I did a ton of Googling and most people are having this problem when booting 64-bit guest OS with virtualization is disabled in the BIOS. That doesn't apply to me. I have virtualization enabled in BIOS and I am booting a 32-bit guest OS.

Ubuntu guest OS is running fine but slow.

I can not find anyone else having this problem. Any idea how to fix this? Thanks.

Unfortunately I can't run Update Manager since I dont have a stand alone 64bit server.  I need to up date my Virtual Vcenter and (2) ESXI Servers that are running 5.0 Update 2 to Update 3.  I am trying to run a Virtual Windows 2012 R2 server and it crashes out every once and a while. It sounds like Update 3 cures that issue.

Is there some where that explains the exact steps to do in order to manually update the servers?

I am using the newest version of VMWare Fusion.  I have a 64-Bit Windows 7 machine on it.  It has worked well until today.  When I try to open it up it won't open.  I don't get an error message but I have the VMWare Fusion icon in my dock and there's a bar underneath it that is black/grey with white stripes going through it like it's doing something like booting or repairing but it can do this for an hour or more and never stops.  If I actually click on the icon to open the program in front of everything else the menus are greyed out where I can't select anything.  I have a Windows XP machine that works fine so I know it has something to do with the specific Windows machine, not VMWare. 
My assumption is that the machine became corrupted. I have a backup of it but it's not a recent backup so I prefer to repair it. I did some important work on it that I don't want to lose.  Is there any way to do some type of repair on this machine or some other way to fix it?  Thanks in advance for your help.

I few hours ago I had ESXi 5.5 Server which showed message in vCenter not responding - I tried reconnecting same issue

services.sh restart same issue and customers started reported  connectivity issues.

so I had to restart the server well first of all no VM got restart even when HA was enabled and second checking logs - vmkernel - hostd.log vmkwarning.log I really did not find much

only this but does not say much, any idea guys, this server firmware was updated like 45 days ago.

The event occurred about 20:30 21:10 hours I am adding vmkernel.log

I get the following error:

FAILED: The VSS snapshots cannot be stored because there is not enough space on the source volumes or because the source machine does not have any NTFS volumes. Error code: 2147754783 (0x8004231F).

I have windows 7 Pro with SSD.

Used space: 16 GB

Free space: 39.7GB

any idea how to solve this issue?

PowerCLI でコマンドを実行するときには

この Connect-VIServer を複数回実行するか、

もしくは vCenter のアドレスを「,」で区切って複数指定することで、

複数のサーバ（vCenter / ESXi） に同時接続してコマンド実行することが可能です。

I've run View Planner a few times before and had very little issue setting it up. However, this time around, in a new environment, when trying to add the perfcounters, I see the following error:

ERROR: Error in getting the VM GoldenDesktop from VC..please check again..

I can see the desktop template VM in vCenter and the vCenter login credentials I've given to View Planner are the same that I use to log in to vCenter through the vShpere Client and webClient. I've re-checked the datacenter name several times as well. I even moved the whole test environment to another vCenter server but still get the same error.

The environment is ESXi 5.1 cluster , vCenter appliance 5.1, ViewPlanner 3.0,  and a Windows 7 VM (hardware version 8). I'm just trying to configure a simple single-vm-local test.

Time is sync'ed between the ESXi servers, ViewPlanner VM, and Windows VM. The vCenter appliances are off a small amount (I'm trying to get the system owners to fix that).

I gave up and continued configuring the VM template with updates and workload support files. I'm assuming I can go back and add perfcounters at any time.

Was running vSphere 5.1 with VCNS 5.1 running Endpoint.  No problems.

Upgraded vCenter etc. to 5.5 a while back, the first step of which (according to KB2057795) was to upgrade vShield manager.  Hosts (and thus Endpoint integration) still on 5.1.  No problems.

I've just moved my hosts to 5.5 this weekend (fresh installs, not upgrades), and have gone to install the Endpoint integration from vShield Manager, before then upgrading Tools etc.  However, vShield Manager (5.5.0a build 1473628) appears to only want to install vShield Endpoint 5.1.0-01255202.  It does, however, offer vShield App 5.5.0-1447281.

Is vShield Endpoint 5.1.0-01255202 the latest version, and the correct version for a vShield Manager 5.5.0a to be offering to 5.5 hosts?  Or have I done something wrong?

We have noticed that the client VMware-Horizon-View-Client-x86_64-2.3.0-1551379.exe installs as a 32bit application - it installs into the C:\Program Files (x86) and when you check task manager you can see its running as 32bit as well.

Anyone know why? The previous client version we used was under the old numbering and didnt have this issue - our application packagers are a bit confused by why its not installing as a 64bit app

I just went through the free "training" and it felt very sales oriented. Is it a sales certification? Or something for management?Its lumped in with the VCP like its a stepping stone, but from my experience there is a big gap between the VCA-DCV and VCP5-DCV. My boss expects me to have a VCP5 and MSCA by the end of the year(no pressure and no training time). After watching the VCA and some of the VCP5-DCV I feel like I am something missing between the two certifications. I get no financial gain from the more certifications just a better performance review. Should I just skip the VCA and concentrate on the VCP5-DCV? Is a VCA-DCV worth spending a $120 dollars on? How much would you pay for a VCA?

I have tried several times to thinapp Java 7 update 45  and Java 7 update 51.  So far I have not been able to get either of these correctly packaged.

Does anyone have any tips or has anyone completed this?

I'm strugging with Browsers, Flash, Java, and getting things to work.

Information:

ThinApp 5.0

Firefox 27 and 28

Chrome 32, 33

Flash 12.0.0.77 (.44 and other previous versions as well)

Java 7.51  (and a few previous versions as well)

Whether I bake it into the browsers *OR* run through the process of applinking, it is not working properly.

In the case of Java:  When I go to a java test page (the java.com one, not one of the other unsigned ones on the net).  It either doesnt load the plugin, and/or crashes the browser (ThinApp Firefox or Chrome)

In the case with Flash, the Adobe test page seems to load fine.  Then one goes to youtube, and it seems all the adds play fine, but the ACTUAL youtube video plays 2 seconds and gives an error.  THis latter part ends up being a big issue, because there are alot of important in house training videos in youtube format (so it HAS to work).  For the life of me, I can not understand why the flash adds work no problem, but the "real" video crashes.

Same thing happens in Chrome (though I know it has a built in pepper flash, that has to be disabled otherwise it thinks flash is NOT installed....then l bake in or app link the other flash and get the same above behavior)

Again, it does not matter if it is baked in or app linked.  SAME behavior.

Can I backup and restore if my Exchange servers are in a DAG?

I am getting the following error when  I attempt to recover my vm at the DR site:

I am using chasis-app and chassis-service sample.

Suppose one thread running in the background in chassis-service  creates multiple Rack or chassis objects so whether the counts of Racks and chassis objects  will gets automatically updated in the UI in below screen or how it is notified to UI on this screen to update the counts.? .

(consider chassis or rack is my own custom objects)
