I have followed the instructions in http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=87402 to create Vim25Service2005.dll and Vim25Service2005.XmlSerializers.dll with latest 5.5 SDK downloaded from vSphere Management SDK for vSphere 5.5 - VMware Developer Center
However, when I try to something like VimService.RetrieveProperties(), it will fail with XML serialization error.

I went through few links but it did not helped me.
If we do not follow the KB link and build the XML serialize dll it is not throwing any "InvalidOperationException". only vimservice took long time Instantiate for which this KB article wrote.

This is probably a pretty basic question: I have a decent understanding of how CPU ready plays into things at the virtual machine level, but when I look at the performance graph for my ESXi host (with the CPU usage and Ready counters), I am surprised to see Ready has any value attached to it at all. For example, if my physical host CPU usage is recorded as 14%, the corresponding Ready value is 109,195 ms. My CPU usage is not high, so I am wondering why Ready is registering for my host, or whether it means something different on host objects as opposed to virtual machine objects. Thanks for any insight.

После создания VM Storage Profile в толстом vSphere client и назначения его машинам vm home отображается как noncompliant, а диски compliant, хотя и диски машины и все остальные файлы располагаются в одном каталоге на compliant датасторе, Storage vMotion на другой датастор с подходящей меткой это не лечит, только сбрасывает профиль для vm home, Storage profile был назначен уже развернутой машине, а не при создании. Насколько нормальна такая ситуация?
Вопрос2 (более важный):
В Web client больше нет такого понятия как VM Storage Profiles, теперь там VM Storage Policy (аналог VM Storage Profiles), при чем информации об уже созданных профилях и Storage Capabilities в Web Client нет. Что все-таки использовать, могут ли Policy противоречить Profiles? Очевидно что стоит использовать только один механизм, т.к. в толстом клиенте нет информации о Policy, в веб клиенте - о Profiles.
We need to perform incremental backups of an old server running esxi 4.1 free.
1) Can we buy a license of "VMware VSPHERE 5 ESSENTIALS KIT FOR 3 HOSTS" and use the license downgraded to unlock backups?
2) Is "VMware VSPHERE 5 ESSENTIALS KIT FOR 3 HOSTS" what I need to use veeam backup to do incremental backups?
3)This allows me to use the license on three hosts simulatenously?
4) If we buy a new server can I use a downgraded license (to vsphere 4) for the old one and one of the other for the new one supporting vsphere 5)?
5) With this kit can I use vsphere essentials on three hosts at the same time?

I've been attempting to get a vCloud up. As far as I can tell I've got everything working. I'm at the point where I'm actually trying to add some resources into the system. We have one vCenter with one ESX hypervisor on it. I was attempting to add that to the vCAC.
I created credentials, one for the local login that is working for on the vsphere. The other is an administrator account that's used everywhere else.
When I create an endpoint on the vCAC to the vSphere using the vSphere credentials it saves, but nothing else happens. I assume the machines are supposed to populate with the VMs I have on that server? I haven't seen anything that would let me add virtual machines manually.
I'm getting several logs:
This exception was caught: The attached endpoint 'vcac.win.jfrog.local' cannot be found.
Retrieving Work from VRM : The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized
vcac.win.jfrog.local is where the vcac software is running.
The VMs are the SuSE OVF VMs

Now I would like to put the changes back from directory tree (git folder) to vCO package (or maybe first to vCO db)
whats the maven command for that?
I tried package -> synchronization but that didn't worked. I guess mvn o11n-package:import-package command only move data one way.
Also if you may please direct me to available maven command documents for o11n-package.

But I failed to configure this work.

Anyway, as you can see, I configured 2 domains (ABC, TEST) and connected in a Horizon View Server because they(ABC, TEST) configured two way Trust Domain between ABC and TEST domain.
2. Add Administrator Page
It can see only Test domain. I can't find ABC domain information.
3. Login Horizon View Server
Even I can't find any ABC domain information in this page.
How can I add ABC domain in this Horizon View Server ?

My company recently bought and VNX5200 SAN from EMC and...
Host Setup:
3 x HP DL360p Gen8 E2650
1 x HP 2-port 561T per host
4 x 1gbe broadcom (built in)
Switch:
1 x HP 5406zl
2 x 8 Port 10gbe Modules
2 x 24 1gbe modules
SAN:
1 x VNX5200 block iSCSI with Block iSCSI
a storage pool configured as 2 x (4+4) Raid1/0 (as per best practice)
Operating system
VMWARE Esxi 5.5 U1 Enterprise Plus (updated with all the latest patches) build 1746018
Other:
* All nic and switches are configure with jumbo frames.
- Have been tested and confirmed working from all hosts using vmkping -s - d 8972 <ip-adress>
* Delayed Ack has been disabled on all iSCSI targets
* Drivers have all been updated to the latest available from VMware.
The issue(s):
* The sequential write performance when copying files within Harddrive A to Harddrive B within the guest operating system is around 60mb/s, I'm expecting at least 900 mb/s
- Tested a 15 gb file on a windows server 2008 r2
* The storage vmotion performance when from SAN to a 6 disk raid 10 storage on the host-01 server is about 75 mb/s.
So what is going on?!!?!?!

С виндовыми вроде как проблем не возникает, кастомизация проходит хорошо.
Но вот некоторыми виртуалками являются линуксовые машины, а так же ESXi машины. Если с линуксами как-то еще можно разобраться, то как быть с ESXi? Как их кстомизировать то? Я пока плохо себе это представляю. Там же маки у всех сетевушек сменятся. Делал кто?
We have a VDI (VMware View 5.0, Samsung NC190 Zero-Clients equipped with Teradici PCoIP Firmware 4.2.0). If we try to print a PDF to local connected printer (HP LaserJet P2055DN via USB), printing starts and the PCoIP connection is lost...
Problem occurs since we rolled out Win7 (64bit and 32bit) desktops, with the old WinXP desktops everything was fine.

I recently tested vDGA and - i was really disappointed. The frames per second rate is far below requirements of engineers (<15fps on 1 monitor). This result was not expected at all and does not match the advertising videos by VMWare (on one video you see 50-60fps in the upper right corner while running a game?!)
The environment:
Proliant DL380p gen8 with Dual CPU E2650 (2Ghz) with 128GB RAM and 2x 146 SAS HDs 15k, Gigabit Network
ESXi v5.5, View 5.3. nVida Quadro K2000 has been successfully linked to 1 VM via pci-passthrough on a host (no other vms were installed on this host).
All required BIOS-Settings on Server have been done. Installed OS on VM was Windows 7 x64 Enterprise, recent nVidia driver and vmview agent as well as feature pack 5.3 installed.
VM has been placed into a VMVIEW-Pool. Within VM, the SVGA Adapter has been deactivated in Windows device manager. Connection to VM via a ZeroClient (Wyse P25) has been successfully established. DXDiag shows Quadro K2000 as primary GPU and Passmark recognizes the gpu - any test from DirectX9 to DirectX11 runs successfuly - results are as expeced.
Conclusion: vDGA has been successfully established.
But: The frame rate is below 15 frames per second in average (peak max. 19fps) while running a video or moving windows around. The Process pcoip_server_win32 runs at about 15% in Average, Maximum peak was 40% (using 2 vCPUs). I think this service is responsible for encoding PCoIP Packets. I have prioritized this process from "High" to "RealTime" - without any performance improvements.
Implementing PCoIP GPO and setting higher frame rate (120 instead of 30), modifying the PCoIP-bandwidth settings and reducing PCoIP initial image quality as well as adding vCPUs (from 2 to 4) and all other settings suggested by documents from VMWare or Teradici to the VM didn't show any significant video improvements. Connecting 2 Monitors results in 8 fps in average...
Is it possible to speed up PCoIP encoding within Windows Session?? I think this is the bottleneck! In Citrix you are able to set a registry key to accelerate Software-Encoding.
Or is there another workaround or known setting which helps to accelerate the fps? Thank you in advance for your help.

It installs fine on a Windows 7 system and runs fine.

After booting the Win 8 guest it works fine for up to 30 minutes but then the hard disk becomes totally unresponsive. If I try to run Notepad.exe or Task Manager they do not launch for several minutes. Already running applications continue to work fine until I read or save to the hard disk.
This lasts for 10 or 15 minutes before working normally again, but then some time later the disk will become unresponsive again and the cycle repeats.
Task Manager on both the host and guest show normal, low levels and the hard drives on the host remain responsive.
I have tried this on Player and Workstation with the same results. I even tried it on VirtualBox where it worked just fine.
I have a Win 7 host and a Win 8 guest on a Core i7 3540M 3.00GHz, 8GB RAM laptop. I have given the guest 2GB RAM and 2 of the 4 processors. The host OS is running on an 128GB SSD and the guest is on a 500GB HDD.

In particular I have ensured that my anti virus software on the host excludes the VMs folder and I have tried selecting the "Fit all virtual machine memory into reserved host RAM" option.

Is itpossible to downgrade the entreprise serial number to standard serial number ?

I currently have an internally accessible vShphere estate (3x ESXi 5.0 hosts) and now want install a web server on this and allow access from the internet to certain web services. I need to completely isolate these web servers and associated traffic from my other VM servers so am really looking for some best practises if possible.
What’s the best way to isolate these web servers from my other internal VMs?
Initially I plan to get a new NIC for each host, will configure a dedicated vSwitch for the web servers and will configure them on a vLAN. These new NICs will interface directly with some DMZ ports on a switch that allows external access. I’ve seen some documentation on creating a separate DMZ on each host (3 vSwitches, 2 firewall VMs and the web server in between) but am unsure if this is totally necessary.
Any advice appreciated.

since i have executed the attached script in the VMware View Optimization Guide for Windows 7 on my Virtual Desktops e.g Internet Explorer and Adobe Reader wont start. There is always an error message which tells sth. like you have trying to access an invalid adress.
Has anybody an idea which setting in the batch is causing this issue and how to fix it? Same is happening to Adobe Reader which i tried to start the first time after installation.
